Today is the shortest day of the year here in Melbourne. I could really tell too because it seems like the middle of the night when I wake up. It’s also just about the worst time to be shooting. I really struggle to find good natural light for the guys now. I recently shot with Tom Lucas and I can already see that the photos are not as bright and crisp as I would like them to be. But of course Tom makes up for the loss of image quality. And the days have now gotten really cold so there’s not much chance of shooting outdoors. I really should be heading north in June and July. The weather up in QLD is still quite mild. Hopefully I can escape the winter doldrums soon.

Check out this interview that I did with GayDemon this week HERE. The guys have been supporting my site for years by posting about the shoots and the guys I’ve met. They have also helped me out from time to time with some site technical problems. The Gaydemon.com website itself is looking pretty good these days too.

I really wish I could have gotten in more outdoor shoots before summer ended. Last week I was having to shoot scenes that should be outside… inside. It’s just too dam cold outside here in Melbourne now to be getting you kit off outdoors. I was reminded of how much fun summer was when I posted this shoot with my new mate Adam El Shawar on the roof. It was the last shoot I did up there back in March when the days were still long and warm. Hopefully winter will pass quickly.

I seem to be shooting a lot more duo scenes recently. I don’t actually have a preference for shooting solo or du scenes, but taking photos in a solo shoot is definitely easier. In a duo scene I take a lot more photos because quite often one of the guys will have their eyes closed or they are not looking at the camera. So coordinating a duo shoot takes a bit longer. And most of the time the guys really just want to start having sex. So I try to get the photos out of the way quickly. This was the case when I shot with Diego and Jake recently. It was Jake’s first duo scene. I knew he would be a great match for Diego after I saw his first solo scene. I’m hoping to shoot more stuff with him soon. As for Diego… well he lives in New Zealand. So I have to wait until he pays us a visit again or I head over there. If you haven’t checked out their video yet, make sure you do.

Sometimes I wonder why I ever leave Australia when I have so many good looking mates right here at home. And they are keeping me very busy at the moment. I thought I might have a few weeks off from shooting when I arrived back in Australia. But it has already started. I’ve had to start keeping a diary of all the scenes coming up. It’s a mix of new guys with some of the guys who have already appeared on the site. A lot of action scenes too between the guys. I guess it’s good to do a tonne of shooting now before we get to the middle of the Australian winter. By the way… how amazing does Skippy Baxter look? Everyone wants to do a scene with Skippy.

I gotta say it… I loved doing this shoot with Aybars in Munich. Aybars is part German, part Turkish. This guy with the amazing physique is actually a popular porn star. And I didn’t actually know it until afterwards when I searched his name. So I feel pretty privileged to have gotten him to model for me, and that we got it on during the shoot. And how are those hot shots of him on the balcony on that freezing cold day in Munich? The city was fairly quiet when we got there and I was beginning to think we had wasted our time going down there. But then Zac met some Hungarian guys to shoot with and I met Aybars. And I reckon just getting to meet Aybars made the trip there worth it.
Apart from meeting with stunning men, Munich is also a really beautiful city. I hope I will get to go there again sometime. The I can highly recommend the pubs in the Bavarian region.

I have definitely found a rooftop that is better than mine. In fact my whole hotel room here in Bangkok is amazing. The rooftop is actually just as big as the hotel room, and it’s totally private. Except of course when the cleaner comes in to find me naked on the day bed. It has a surrounding high hedge to give privacy from other buildings, has a nice outdoor shower (with hot water). In fact I haven’t used the actual shower in the bathroom at all. I’ve been using the outdoor shower night and day. So I’m on a mission. I want an outdoor space that’s as good as this one. Unfortunately in Melbourne it doesn’t really have the hot weather that Bangkok has. Even if it rains here, it finishes and dries quickly. Man I love Bangkok.

Well after Paris I caught the plane back to Malaysia with my parents. And once I saw them on to their plane to Australia, I went and found another flight to Bangkok. I decided a while ago to give myself a short break before I head back to my day job next week. Gosh it’s going to be hard getting back in to 9 to 5 work again after this long holiday. The good news is that I got a great hotel room with it’s own private rooftop garden (pics). The bad news is that I have no one to shoot with here. So I guess I’ll just take some shots of myself.
I really like Bangkok. I’ve been shopping for some new model gear as well as getting some cool new equipment for the shoots. I can’t wait to get home and start shooting again. I feel a bit rusty.

I count myself as incredibly lucky to get to take my parents all the way from Australia to Europe. My parents are 77 and 82 years old and it’s their first trip to Europe. Despite their age and the challenges involved with travelling with them, it has been a lot of fun. Even though I have seen most of these cities before, it has been fun seeing how excited they are to see these places. We have also gotten to do something that I have always wanted to do, and that is travel around Europe on trains.
Today is our last day in Europe. We have ended with a nice tour around Paris in a little old Citroen 2CV. I must post a pic of it here. It’s so cute. We have covered 8 cities in 5 countries in 3 weeks. My parents have done so well to keep up the pace. And tomorrow we begin the long long trip home.

Here’s a quick trip update. As you may already know, I’m on a vacation. I’m taking my elderly parents on their first trip around Europe. It’s the longest trip they have ever been on. I was quite worried about their ability to handle such a long trip and so many city changes, but now that we are over half way, I can see that they are doing well. So far we have seen London, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Vienna, Bratislava, Prague, and now we are in Berlin. Just 2 more cities are left after this one. I’m not sure I would ever try to fit this many cities in to a trip on my own, but they are getting a good taste for a lot of big European cities. And it’s kinda fun seeing how excited they are seeing stuff. All of the travel is being done on trains, so they see a lot more between cities too. My mum took this photo of me in front of the Reichstag building here in Berlin. She’s a budding photographer too!
